Been playing The Bureau XCOM Declassified

I was really surprised by how much I liked this game. I am not much of an action fan as I prefer RPGs and more story rich games. Maybe that's what it is about this game, the story flows really well. It's a bit cheesy at times I will admit. Perhaps it is that it has just enough RPG/RTS elements as to not alienate me. Who knows? All I know is, I really like this game.

The Bureau XCOM Declassified (The Bureau from here on) has very slick and intuitive controls, at least with the keyboard and mouse, I have not tried the gamepad yet. The missions are action packed although they do kind of seem to follow an XCOM formula that those who played the Strategy games will recognize.

"Cigarette smoke lies thick in the air at the office"
The graphics are nice to look at, but not super realistic or anything. The setting is atmospheric as well, all the sounds of a busy 1960's alien fighting, secret HQ you would expect while cigarette smoke lies thick in the air at the office, it's just great.

The combat is fluid as well, you can slow down time to issue commands to your ai partners, like what enemy to focus fire on, or what skills to use on this enemy, etc. The are cover mechanics, and those are not just optional. If you pop out and try to rush in guns blazing, you will most likely fail. This game is a tactical shooter.

But, overall I feel this game is a wonderful addition to any gamers line up, especially XCOM and strategy game fans.
