Been Playing The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

The Elder Scrolls Online.

Was super excited about this one finally shedding it's subscription fee and going buy to play. I kinda just fee that's the way they should have gone to begin with. Make your money off of the box sales and a light cash shop, but I am getting way off track here. I have been playing a lot of this great game since the change over. Let me tell you, this game is a soloists delight, There is lots of dialogue, tons of fun, creative quests, good combat, lots of skills to mess around with and an overall large world.

This game is fully voiced, yeah some of it is a bit cheesy at times but for the most part the voice acting is very good. There is a lot of voice in this game. The soundtrack is awesome as well. It also boasts some nice graphics as well and it runs fairly smooth if you have a somewhat decent PC and graphics card. The quests in this game are also pretty fun, some even have you completing solo dungeons and a few puzzles. There are a lot of fetch and kill quests, However, it's all about the context and this game shines at giving you a good reason to do them. There are even morally conflicting choices, I love that.

The combat feels a great deal like the single player TES games, So if you liked that style you will feel right at home here. Mind you, there are tweaks here and there, like the skill bar is like most other modern MMO's, they cant just have you pausing the game to select skills and such, now can they? There is a large number of skills in the game as well. You do pick a class to start with and that determines your 3 class skill sets, but there are quite a few other skill lines to learn, like sword and shield, 2 handed weapon, restoration staff and many others. What's even cooler is, you can mix and  match some skills from different lines to make your own build.

Combat, so fun in The Elder Scrolls Online...WITH ADD-ONS!!! :p
The world is also very large and filled with things to do. When you hit a new zone there are little hot spots of activity that star to show up on your compass. You can go complete these points of interest, some by just visiting the location other by completing the quest line there, etc.  The zones are freaking massive in size and you can go almost anywhere you can see.

While the game is quite well done, it of course has some issues. Itemization, to me, is very bleh'. This may change at higher levels but it's almost like your items don't matter much. The enemies feel like they hit way to hard right now, and they seem unintelligent. The UI is not as robust as I would have liked. I should rephrase that. The UI is almost nonexistent, while that does have a good effect on immersion, I say screw immersion, I want a mini map, chat bubbles (which it does have now), damage numbers flying all over my screen and a huge quest tracker out to the right on my screen! Luckily, the game does support addons so I was able to get all of the above...and I did...Me likey!

But this is getting way too long, so I will end it by saying: TESO is a great game with tons of content and a fairly standard story, but is still good in my book. You should check it out. Oh yeah, it's coming to the next gen consoles soon too, so you console players can enjoy this game as well!! Have you played The Elder Scrolls online?? What did you think of it?
