Been Playing Tera Rising

Tera Rising.

Ever wanted to experience real time, action combat online with your friends? Enter Tera Rising. Now, this games been out for a while, but just recently got a big update, The Fate of Arun expansion, that drew me back in. I am having so much fun with this game that I have forgotten why I took a break to begin with. Oh yeah, I remember now, the boring, grindy quest system, oh well can't be perfect, I guess.

Aside from the aforementioned quest system, the games combat system is what really makes this game unique and fun. This game could literally have you in a small area fighting wave after wave of enemies and the combat still comes out on top. It feels nicely paced, and with just the right amount of weight and nuances to your attacks. I will admit, at first glance and earlier levels it seems like a button masher, but as you gain more and more skills and he enemies become tougher, you realize you need to pay attention to what you are doing...<Ahem> unless you play a Mystic, I kid, I kid!!...But, really.

The game flaunts awesome graphics and some of the music is pretty well done. The voice over for some of the NPC's can get very (Read: VERY) repetitive at an alarmingly fast rate. With almost all of one kind of NPC's lines coming from a, seemingly small, pool of one liners. You'll be jamming out to hit's like "Need anything from me?" or "Your face looks strange...is it always like that?" all day long!

With all aspects weighed, Tera Rising is a great free to play title that everyone deserves to treat themselves to, even if you don't stick around. You never know though, you might just find your new favorite game. You can grab Tera Rising from Steam(soon in 2015) , or from the publisher's site (U.S) here
