Been playing The Secret World

Wow, so this is a great game that I don't think many people play. The setting is terrific, especially if you are into the supernatural or like urban legends and stuff. The game is revolved around basically all of the horrible stories and monsters you have heard of being real, from werewolves to vampires and some in between you may have not even heard of. They recently released the new Tokyo expansion pack...or rather issue.
Let's talk a bit about what I think is awesome in this game. First off, the setting is just really great. It has a nice creepy ambiance to it. It makes awesome use of lighting, shadow and particle effects to emphasize the dark, moody storyline of the game. Secondly the story telling and questing. This game is not your traditional collect 8 quests, go complete them then turn them all in and win. No, this game is very focused. You can pick up 1 main mission and then you can have 1 storyline quest and 3 small side missions. The main missions in the game are fully voiced and offer you some great characters and cut scenes. There are tons of Missions and almost all of them can be repeated. Third, we have the leveling system/class system. There are not any traditional leveling or classes in this game, you do have different tiers which control what weapons and gear you can use, and how difficult a fight MAY be for you. I say may, because this game is all about the skill sets you are using. Every enemy in the game (almost) requires different tactics and skills to defeat. So the skill set you were using to kill the werewolves down the road may not work on the Scarecrows. So instead of just picking a class, you can just purchase the skills from the weapon lines you find useful. Want to be a tank, grab a sword or a hammer and get the right skills, maybe you want to heal, no problem, just grab an assault rifle and some fist weapons and you are good to go, you get the picture.

Oh yeah,I'm a bad-ass...My eyes glow, and what?!

Now with all that said, there are some aspects to the game that I don't like, of course. #1 the combat can feel "floaty" and non impactful at times, like the sound effect for a skill may play at the wrong moment. Or perhaps an enemy may not show a reaction to your hit. Also, Some of the animations feel stiff and artificial. But, those really are just superficial complaints and do not really take away from the great story and ambiance of the game in any way. You can get The Secret World from here or steam, it is a buy to play game.
